I have an old version 2018 on the same PC and that works fine. The font is there and can be selected, but you cant see its name before selecting it. If any are corrupted, remove and replace from the original disks. Corel 2019 and now 2020 When selecting the font 'dropdown' the names of the fonts are not visible on the screen. For Type One fonts use Adobe Type Manager Deluxe to check that the Type Ones were installed and display correctly. In some cases, entire lines of text will appear as dots if there's even one special symbol in the line, such as a double-quote (') symbol or a degree ( ) or diameter ( ) symbol, or special letters, such as, ,, etc. For TrueType fonts use Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Fonts and see if they were installed and display correctly. When a PDF file is plotted from AutoCAD, text or symbols are displayed as dots. QualiType Software has another font utility called Font Handler at Bitstream also had a font manager called Font Navigator and I believe a version of Bitsream's utility shipped with CorelDRAW! However Bitstream have withdrawn this in favour of another program, Font Reserve There is also Suitcase for Windows, from ExtensisĬheck ALL your fonts. That way you have all the fonts you need without also slowing down every Windows operation involving typography.
You can install thousands of fonts and have them available but "inactive" by using Adobe Type Manager Deluxe 4.1 to create "font packs" which you switch in and out as necessary. Remember that roman, bold, italic and bold-italic are four "fonts". But I've seen problems when using many fonts under newer Windows as well. Here's some of my boilerplate on fonts: I recommend that you have only 100 or so fonts installed and active at one time as a test - that's a Windows 9x issue.
